The Netherlands Ambassador to Ghana, Ron Strikker has expressed great satisfaction at the commitment shown by the Ghanaian government and civil society organizations (CSOs) to improving water and sanitation conditions in the country over the past five years. He said the commitment, professionalism and the level of energy injected into activities had yielded great results in the sector.

Vida Duti, the Country Director of IRC Ghana, also indicated that IRC’s goal in the partnership project was to support CSOs with the capacity to generate the evidence to support their engagements with the government and the local people.

She stressed that there were still other critical issues to address in the sector even though some progress has been made.
In his address, the Chairman of the Coalition of NGOs in Water and Sanitation (CONIWAS), called on the stakeholders to sustain the gains and push watershed activities to a level where all the institutions would be active to promote the sector.
